Lee Hoiby’s delicious operatic work based on a Julia Child television broadcast and performed by mezzo-soprano Susan Nicely. Le gateau au chocolate is prepared from real ingredients as the piece is sung. As an overture, percussionist Ian Rosenbaum will perform Frederic Rzewski’s To the Earth.
